BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Big crowds, fun traditions, and plenty of entertainment are once again filling the streets of the only 'town' in Pennsylvania. The 170th annual Bloomsburg Fair is taking over Columbia County with rides, games, and the smell of fried food in the air.
Families and friends are flocking to one of Pennsylvania's biggest fairs to make memories that last a lifetime.
"People come here, it's a vacation. This is where they meet. They meet their families. Whether it's a reunion with your family or a reunion with people you only see here at the fair this week," Randy Karschner, president of the Bloomsburg Fair Association told 28/22 News.

The fair blends agriculture, tradition, and entertainment. Visitors can see livestock shows with cows, sheep, and chickens, sample local foods, and browse homemade crafts.
For many, the fair is also about food, friends, and family. It's a chance to reconnect, celebrate the harvest season, and enjoy activities for all ages.
"It's tradition for me, a lot of memories, me and my friends hanging out growing up, and the food for sure," Michael Jellen of State College said.
"I'm excited when we play the games because you get to win a prize. Like I won a sword," 5-year-old Genevieve Dietterick of Berwick explained.
Organizers say nearly half a million people annually visit the fair from across the country, returning year after year for this special blend of fun.
"The sky ride that's a staple of this fairgrounds, not every fairground has one. The sky ride is really a key attraction at the fair," Karschner said.
From livestock shows and carnival rides, to live music and family reunions, the Bloomsburg Fair offers something for everyone, making it one of the largest and most beloved events in Pennsylvania.
The Bloomsburg County Fair runs until Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
