HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State Route 924 in Hazle Township is now reopened after officials say a crash sent a man to the hospital and led to a diesel fuel spill.
Officials with the Luzerne County Communications Center confirmed that crews were called to the 500 block of Can Do Expressway, or State Route 924, for a tractor-trailer crash at about 7:00 p.m.

PSP stated that the tractor-trailer was traveling east on the Can Do Expressway when, due to an apparent medical emergency, the driver lost control and veered off the right side of the highway.
The tractor-trailer then struck a concrete wall, causing it to overturn, troopers say.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities add that because the cargo being hauled and a large diesel fuel spill, the Luzerne County Emergency Management Agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection were notified of the incident.
State police confirm DEP officials were on scene, and there is no current hazard to the public.
The roadway reopened around 10 a.m. Tuesday, and there is no word yet on the driver's condition.
