Leaky roof causes elementary school to close

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Weather-related problems are popping up across the region, including a leaky school roof that caused an elementary school to close.

Lyndwood Elementary School in Hanover Township dismissed students at 11:00 a.m. this morning because there was a leak in the roof.

Weather Alert: Gusty winds mixed with rain expected across Pennsylvania

The superintendent says the leak is now contained, and that a contractor is making repairs.

He says the plan is to reopen Lyndwood on Friday, as long as the rain does not complicate the repair work.
