I-180 reopened after truck collides with bridge

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A portion of Interstate 180 has been reopened after a truck carrying stone hit a bridge, closing that portion of I-180 around 8:00 a.m. Friday.

I-180 was closed in both directions between McEwensville/Watsontown (Exit 1) and Turbotville (Exit 5) in Northumberland County, due to a truck hitting the bridge that carries Eighth Street (Route 1006) over the interstate.

State police stated the truck was hauling 23 tons of stone when the dump trailer portion was elevated. Vehicle debris, stone, and wires were thrown across all four lanes on I-180.
