SHAVERTOWN, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A food truck is rolling into Luzerne County this week, hoping to make a big difference. The meals they sell are helping to keep the Shavertown Fire Department running strong.
Firehouse Concessions set up shop at the fire department as part of their traveling fundraiser.
The group works within a two-hour radius of Waverly, New York, supporting dozens of fire departments along the way.
Blind student shows his piano abilities
20% of all sales, and 100% of all tips, go back to the fire department. Organizers say every dollar helps because fire equipment and repairs add up quickly.
"Help them with getting new equipment, making repairs to some of the fire vehicles, never know what they might need because sadly, a lot of this stuff is not cheap," Skyler Bidwell with Firehouse Concessions told 28/22 News.
The fundraiser runs through Saturday evening.
