WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A delectable annual Greek food festival is back in Wilkes-Barre.
The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on East Ross Street is serving up classic Greek dishes.
Everything from baclava, to gyros, cheese pie, even dessert.
The festival is take-out only, and pre-orders by phone or online at least two hours in advance are encouraged.
Raising awareness for domestic violence victims
The food festival is the main event for the church to raise funds every year.
"Almost every church feels the necessity of adding what needs to be done for their particular parishes, and this is one way all of us have to do it because we have the ethnic foods people enjoy," said Theresa Karambelas, volunteer.
The festival kicked off on Wednesday and runs through Friday at 7:00 p.m.
