WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Flu season is almost here, and the city of Wilkes-Barre wants to keep people safe.
A flu vaccine clinic was held at the farmers' market on the Public Square on Thursday.
People of all ages living in the city were able to receive a free flu shot.
The city health department's "Bee healthy" bus was also present, providing free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings throughout the day on Thursday.

"We also have medical professionals who are trained in all disciplines of health, and they give people an opportunity to get vaccinations, immunizations, and also a diagnosis in some cases," explained David Yonki, health educator, Wilkes-Barre Health Department.
This was the second of six clinics scheduled in Wilkes-Barre City.

It will take place at the Hollenback Fire Station, located on North Washington Street, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
