PA AG announces LETI program mental health expansion

LEWISBURG, UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A state initiative that helps Pennsylvanians seeking treatment is expanding. Attorney General Dave Sunday made the announcement on Monday in Lewisburg.

The Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI) will now include behavioral health and mental health services for program participants.

Columbia, Montour, Snyder, and Union Counties will be the first counties to launch LETI with the expanded mental health component.

The treatment initiative allows Pennsylvanians seeking treatment to use their local law enforcement, county officials, and community stakeholders to contact the treatment services they need.

"Expanding LETI will serve as a foundation for us to make further improvements to our criminal justice system and how it addresses mental health. I want to assure you that we have to approach this in a smart way, one that is sensitive to victims, sensitive to families, communities, and the input and knowledge of providers, who are the experts," Attorney General Sunday stated.

LETI has received more than 2,500 referrals from concerned individuals throughout the commonwealth.
