The families of two Schuylkill County teenagers who were murdered two years ago this week say they will never stop fighting for justice for their sons.
The I-team's Andy Mehalshick spoke Thursday with the mother of one of the victims, who says she and her family are living a nightmare.
"I would just like everybody to never forget these two wonderful boys. They were, both hunter and Angelito, they were great," expressed Tanya Evans, mother of Angelito Caraballo.
Anya Evans is the mother of 16-year-old Angelito Caraballo. She had this marble bench made to honor her son and his good friend, 18-year-old Hunter Mock.
They went missing on October 8. Their bodies were found in a wooded area near New Philadelphia on October 10, 2023.
Caraballo was stabbed to death, and Mock was shot in the head.
Police arrested 19-year-old Lamour Branch for the murders; he is awaiting trial.
Investigators say the branch intended to kill a female, and possibly mock that night, and that Caraballo was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I remember everything from going to knock on the door to nobody answering, to me calling and filing a missing persons report, to us getting that phone call at 3:25 am that they were found," recalled Evans.
Evans says she is not looking forward to the trial, as it will bring back painful memories.
"I'm really hoping that we are able to get justice, regardless of anything; nothing will ever bring him back. I mean, he did a horrible thing, so I feel he should get the max of everything," voiced Evans.
The families of Hunter Mock and AngElito Caraballo say they will do everything to make sure theIr boys get justice.
