PennDOT has implemented a long-term detour on Route 44 in Montour County due to damage from the recent flooding.
Route 44 is closed between Sportsmans Road and Gearhart Road in Anthony Township. The detour is Route 54, Route 1006 (Preserve Road) and Route 1003 (PP and L Road).
The department currently is assessing the extent of the damage to the road and will evaluate any repairs that need to be made. However, the detour is expected to remain in place until September.
