Susquehanna Valley Mediation launches caregiver support group

LEWISBURG — Susquehanna Valley Mediation is facilitating a monthly caregiver support group for those affected by the caregiving needs of a loved one.The group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 and Dec. 17 at the Union County Resource Center, 480 Hafer Road, Lewisburg.“There are so many people in our community who experience stress and isolation as caregivers. I am delighted that there will be a place where they can feel understood and akin,” Angela Trop, licensed clinical social worker, said.Sharing insight and words of encouragement, the group will offer a way for caregivers to connect with others who have had to take on that role. Ultimately, helping caregivers cope and find solutions to the challenges they face.Meg Martin and Elayne Sobel of Susquehanna Valley Mediation, will facilitate each meeting.
