The Labor Department has issued a new rule intended to protect coal miners from poisonous silica dust that has contributed to the premature deaths of thousands of mine workers from a respiratory ailment known as “black lung” disease. The rule announced Tuesday cuts by half the permissible exposure limit for crystalline silica for an eight-hour shift.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — On Monday, country music star Toby Keith passed away at the age of 62, after a two-year battle with stomach cancer.
The signs of stomach cancer can often be easy to miss. Now, medical experts are raising awareness.
"When the abnormal growth happens in the stomach, we call it stomach cancer," said Dr. Sorab Gupta a medical oncologist at Geisinger.
Dr. Gupta, a medical oncologist at Geisinger says there are a few key symptoms stomach cancer typically presents.

Britain's King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment. Buckingham Palace said Monday the cancer is not related to the king’s recent treatment for a benign prostate condition. It did not say what form of cancer the 75-year-old monarch has. The statement said Charles “remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.” He is being treated as an outpatient and will continue to undertake paperwork and other business as head of state.

According to Elon Musk, the first human received an implant from his computer-brain interface company Neuralink over the weekend. In a Monday post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Musk said that the patient received the implant the day prior and was recovering well. The billionaire did not provide additional details about the patient. Neuralink reposted Musk’s Monday post on X, but did not publish any additional statements acknowledging the human implant.
