Man pronounced dead two weeks after crash

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Hazleton man struck by a car over two weeks ago was pronounced dead at a Lehigh County hospital Sunday morning.

First responders say they were called to the intersection of North Church Street and 8th Street in Hazleton for a pedestrian struck by a car around 8:00 p.m. March 16.

Officials say 68-year-old Michael A. Mumaw, from Hazleton, was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, with multiple traumatic injuries from being struck by the car.

15 days after arriving at the hospital, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said Mumaw had succumbed to his injuries.

The coroner's office says the Hazleton City Police Department is investigating.
