Hunter found dead after collapsing in woods

VALLEY TWP., MONTOUR COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say a Danville hunter was found dead in the woods after he collapsed.

According to the Montour County Coroner's Office, emergency crews were called around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, for a hunter who had not returned from a hunting trip near Cameltown Road in Valley Township.

Investigators stated they found the victim, Paul Hutchison, Jr., 59, of Danville, in the woods and the coroner's office was called to the scene.

Detectives believe Hutchison had harvested a deer earlier and was preparing to leave the woods when he suffered a medical emergency and collapsed.

Hutchison was pronounced dead around 8:40 p.m.
