Tractor-trailer rollover shuts down road for hours

JESSUP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Lackawanna County road was closed for hours after a reported tractor-trailer rollover Sunday morning.

Officials say that the Jessup Hose Company was called to Route 247 above US 6 Eastbound in Jessup at about 9:00 a.m. Sunday for a reported tractor-trailer rollover.

Suspected stabbing under investigation

Authorities say there are no reported injuries at this time

The road was closed for hours following the crash until reopening just after 2:00 p.m., according to officials.

Victim, suspect identified by PSP in Loyalsock Township investigation

LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have identified the victim in an alleged deadly stabbing in Lycoming County Sunday morning.

According to troopers, state police responded to the Liberty Lodge on the 2000 block of East Third Street around 10:00 a.m. to check on the welfare of a resident.

Upon arrival, it was determined there an altercation occurred between two hotel residents that resulted in a fatal stabbing, according to the release.

Search warrant served, Hazleton Police investigating burned body

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A search warrant was served, and an investigation is underway by Hazleton City Police after a burning body was found along Club 40 Road on Sunday.

According to Hazleton City Police, units were called to the intersection of Club 40 Road and East Broad Street just after 7:00 a.m. for a report of a mannequin on fire.

After investigation, firefighters noticed that this was not a mannequin, but a burning body, and Hazleton City Police were called.
