Plymouth police arrest parents; home found in squalor

PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two Luzerne County parents were locked up on Tuesday, accused of allowing their young children to live in deplorable conditions, and police say they discovered those conditions after responding to a report of a naked five-year-old boy covered in human feces alone in a park.

Investigators tell 28/22 News I-Team Reporter Andy Mehalshick the Plymouth home, in their words, is a "pig pen." In fact, it was condemned, but it was home to a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl.

96th annual Millville Fireman's Carnival begins Friday

Convicted child murderer dies in prison

(WBRE/WYOU) — A man who was sent to prison for killing a mother and her 6-year-old daughter in Luzerne County has died.

According to John Rivello, superintendent of the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon, inmate Henry Christopher Stubbs, 60, was found unresponsive in his cell on June 17.

Prison staff and medical personnel responded to provide life-saving measures. EMS arrived and life support measures were continued as Stubbs was transferred to Penn Highlands Hospital, where he later died at 5:34 p.m.
