PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A hit-and-run involving a tractor-trailer in Pittston Township is raising serious concerns about safety on a busy residential road.
A woman's porch was destroyed, and now, there are questions over who's responsible for maintaining safety on that particular roadway.
"Oh, I just got weak. I couldn't believe that this happened," homeowner Cathy Menichini stated.
Menichini has lived on Oak Street in Pittston Township for nearly 60 years.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A home in Luzerne County has been determined to be unfit for human habitation after an air conditioner caught fire.
Crews on scene say they were able to get the fire out quickly, but not before it spread to the third floor of the home.
Woman rescued from burning home in Kingston
Officials say no one was injured, but two people are now displaced.
The fire is now under investigation.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A pair of Electric City-based barbers decided to give back by providing free haircuts to those in need.
Dozens of kids got free cuts this morning thanks to City Touch Barbershop in Scranton.
Free refreshments were provided for the kids, with pizza donated by Buona Pizza, and snacks and drinks donated by the youth basketball group Hoop Heroes.
96th annual Millville Fireman’s Carnival begins Friday
More than 30 kids walked out of the event with a fresh haircut for summer at no cost to the families.

The pool offers everything from slides to a splash pad. There's also a snack bar.
There are also membership deals for residents and non-residents of Kingston. Single daily swim passes are also available.
