MILTON — A Milton man accused of burying the body of a 3-day-old baby in the backyard of a Center Street residence will appear in court July 23.

The 10 people arrested in connection with the shooting of a Texas police officer were part of a planned ambush on a detention center used to house U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees, according to the United States Attorney overseeing the case.

SUNBURY — Sunbury Police will be getting an enclosed trailer filled with essential police equipment for any emergency situations.

The cause and manner of death of a newborn infant girl whose body was buried in a Milton backyard is “pending investigation,” according to Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley.

SHAMOKIN — Multiple juveniles from Shamokin and Coal Township are facing felony and related charges after they allegedly broke into Community Health Care in Shamokin, ransacked the building and spray-painted multiple walls, according to the Shamokin Police Department.

MILTON — A Milton man faces misdemeanor charges of criminal conspiracy in concealing the death of a child and abuse of a corpse after borough police say he buried the body of a 3-day-old baby in the backyard of a Center Street residence.

SCOTT TOWNSHIP – An officer attempted to stop a Pontiac sedan shortly before 1 AM Friday in the area of Tenny St & Old Berwick Rd, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed on Riverview Ave.

One person fled on foot after the vehicle wrecked at the dead end of Worman St.

Bloomsburg Police attempted to stop a vehicle driving erratically around 2:00 AM Sunday, resulting in a high-speed pursuit with speeds reaching around 100 MPH.

The driver fled towards Catawissa on SR-487, eventually leaving the roadway at the top of Riverhill Dr to attempt losing officers in a field. Officers described the driver as being dangerous with the vehicle.

Officers from Bloomsburg University, Briar Creek Township, Catawissa Borough, Hemlock Township, Locust Township, Montour Township, Scott Township, South Centre Township, and State Police Bloomsburg assisted.
