An attempted traffic stop in Union County led law enforcement on a chase through two counties Saturday night, an incident that ended with state police having to fire a weapon at an individual.

Bloomsburg Police attempted to stop a vehicle driving erratically around 2:00 AM Sunday, resulting in a high-speed pursuit with speeds reaching around 100 MPH.
The driver fled towards Catawissa on SR-487, eventually leaving the roadway at the top of Riverhill Dr to attempt losing officers in a field. Officers described the driver as being dangerous with the vehicle.
Officers from Bloomsburg University, Briar Creek Township, Catawissa Borough, Hemlock Township, Locust Township, Montour Township, Scott Township, South Centre Township, and State Police Bloomsburg assisted.
