Tattoo and Brews celebrates National Beer Day in Jenkins Township

JENKINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County brewery is celebrating National Beer Day by serving up cups and flights of its tasty IPAs, but that's not all.

While dozens are sipping on their favorite flavors of beer at Susquehanna Brewing Company (SBC) near Pittston, others are getting some new body art done at the business.

Tattoos and Brews is featuring a tattoo artist from Marc's Tattooing in Pittston along with live entertainment.

It's a unique experience for one tattoo client at the event and one that is perfect for this beautiful April Day.

"I've always wanted to get a tattoo of hops, and I've been wanting it for a long time. I saw they were doing it so I thought I would come over and do it. It's a boring Sunday in April, why not? It hurts really bad but then you have something beautiful afterward," Michele Talmadge of Swoyersville said.

Luzerne County and Beyond Got Talent Show kicked off

"This is a cool event, I like it, and I am into art and stuff, so it's perfect. Come down to the SBC, try some good beers, and enjoy the sun," said Courtdale resident Shawn Wolfe.

Tattoos and brews runs until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Susquehanna Brewing Company staff members say it's the first time they've hosted the event, and they don't think it will be the last.
