Water boil advisory lifted in Freeland

FREELAND, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials have lifted a water advisory warning that was in effect for the borough in Luzerne County .

Authorities warned residents to boil their water after a water main break on Wednesday.

The Freeland Municipal Authority alerted residents of a water main break at the intersection of Walnut and Centre Street.

While the water main break has already been repaired, officials say a water boil advisory is in place for the next few days.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania lawmakers are giving constituents a voice in state transportation investments.

A house transportation committee met Wednesday at the Luzerne County Transportation Authority Headquarters in Wilkes-Barre.

The committee took written testimony concerning a proposed funding increase for state transportation, roads, and bridges.

$280,000,000 in funding was originally requested, but the bill fell short in the state Senate after passing the House.
