(WBRE/WYOU) — On Sunday, a dozen tourists from northeastern Pennsylvania made it to their final destination overseas nearly two days later than they were supposed to.

The problems started early Friday morning in London. An electrical substation fire knocked out power to the airport and impacted hundreds of thousands of air passengers.

Among them was a Honesdale woman and her group. Their 10-hour trip to Finland took nearly 48 hours instead. It cost them plenty of flight time and thousands of dollars.

JERSEY SHORE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Charges are pending for two suspects after a reported burglary in Jersey Shore early Sunday morning.

The Lycoming Regional Police say on Sunday they were called to the Nittany Minit Mart on the 800 block of Allegheny Street at 5:45 a.m. for a possible burglary.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke with an employee of the business.

The employee told police they arrived at work to find the glass broken out of the front door.

Officers first made sure the scene was safe, then began their investigation.

WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman was helped by an officer from choking in Weatherly Saturday.

In a release, the Weatherly Police Department says an officer was called to a home in the early afternoon on Saturday, March 22, in the borough for a report of a woman choking.

The officer responding to the home realized that EMS agencies would come from neighboring towns and that choking could be a matter of seconds before it could be life-threatening, according to the release.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — From the great outdoors to indoors for some golf fundraising fun. The Osterhout Free Library in Wilkes-Barre was the place to be for the Sixth Annual All "Fore" Books Mini Golf Classic event.

More than 100 people signed up to take a swing at the 18-hole course in this family-friendly spin on classic golf fundraisers.

All proceeds support children's programs and early literacy outreach at the library on South Franklin Street.

Irish pride on display in Monroe County

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Plenty of Irish pride is on display on Sunday in the Poconos.

The Irish Thunder Pipes and Drums' from Montgomery County were among the participants in the 46th Annual Pocono Irish American Club Saint Patrick's Parade.

It took marchers and riders from Stroudsburg to East Stroudsburg.

The parade did not disappoint from those who participated in it to those who came out to watch it.
