Two benches encapsulate the meaning of the Orange Bowl in NEPA

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Near the Penn State campus in Dunmore there are two benches, one for Notre Dame and one for the Nittany Lions.

They are located right outside Peoples Security Bank.

The bench for the Nittany Lions has a lion sitting on it, and the bench for Notre Dame is made out of wood from their old stadium.

The senior vice president of the bank says the benches where put out back in 2016 as part of a friendly rivalry between two executives at the time.

Dozens gather to watch the Orange Bowl in Luzerne County

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Thursday night was a huge night for college football fans Penn State vs. Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl for the right to play in the National Championship Game.

Fans from both camps were out cheering on their favorite team.

Penn State's Tyler Warren makes history in the Orange Bowl

(WHTM) - Penn State tight end Tyler Warren made history during the Orange Bowl, becoming just the fourth tight end with at least 100 receptions in FBS history.

Warren had two catches in the first half for 17 yards in the opening half against Notre Dame to reach the mark.

Warren lined up across the field for the Nittany Lions, including under center at quarterback where he nearly picked up a first down on a broken play.
