Attempted sex assault suspect dances out of court

PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Break-ins, burglaries, physical assaults, and an attempted sexual assault: These are just some of the acts police say were committed on a crime spree inside a Plymouth apartment building overnight.

36-year-old Suffian Johnson is locked up and facing more than a dozen charges.

Investigators say that the crime spree took place just before midnight inside an apartment building on West Main Street here in Plymouth.

Police say Johnson also carried a knife and threatened to slit the throat of one tenant.

Two card skimmers found at Walmart in Wilkes-Barre Twp.

WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating two card skimmers discovered at Walmart in Wilkes-Barre Township.

Wilkes Barre Township Police say they were called on December 18 about two skimming devices placed on two point-of-sale machines at registers 11 and 12 in Walmart.

Police stated the suspect pictured placed the device on December 9 and 11.

These devices, which can capture and store card information, were found during the store's security team checks.

Gun seized at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport

AVOCA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport TSA says they intercepted a gun at the security checkpoint Thursday morning.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport intercepted a 9mm handgun loaded with 11 bullets at the airport checkpoint on December 19.

Officials stated the weapon was caught as the man from Orangeville, entered the security checkpoint, and the X-ray alerted to a gun in his carry-on items.

Suspect in killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO will return to New York to face murder charges

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — The suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO faces new federal charges of murder, stalking and weapons charges, according to a complaint unsealed Thursday.

Luigi Mangione agreed to return to New York to face a state murder charge Thursday at a morning court appearance in Pennsylvania where he was arrested last week after five days on the run. It was unclear when he would be in court on the federal charges.
