LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— 28/22's Gianna Galli talked with Pocono Television about how the partnership came to be.

She is joined by Chris Barrett from the Pocono Television Network with more on how the partnership with Pocono Raceway and 28/22 News came to be.

They touched on how much Pocono Raceway means to the area, the Pocono brand, as well as the process on how the agreement ended up on a Chevy NASCAR.

Grandstand reopened after five hour delay

(WBRE/WYOU)— With isolated storms passing through Sunday afternoon, the Pocono Raceway has had to adjust.

At around 9:30 a.m., the raceway told all attendees to evacuate the grandstand due to the threat of thunderstorms.

After approximately five hours, the lightning hold was finally lifted but did warn attendees to stay vigilant as bad weather is still in the area

Climbing and Competing for a cause

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— They climb for a living, but Saturday it was all for fun, competition, and a cause.

Dozens of Union lineworkers from across the country took part in the 13th annual NSUJL Benefit Rodeo at City View Park in Hazleton.

The day of friendly competition raises money for the National Sisterhood United for Journeymen Linemen, as well as families who lost a loved one in the trade.

EXETER, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A stack of lumber became a symbol of hope in Exeter.

Dozens of volunteers gathered to give local children something many of us take for granted, a bed.

The national non-profit "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" teamed up with the Kiwanis Club of Wyoming Area.

They held a massive bed build event at Saint Barbara's Church in Exeter.

About 50 volunteers helped cut, sand, and stain the materials.

18-year-old Zilisch brings home the win in Xfinity Race

LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— 28/22 Sports was joined by NASCAR driver Kyle Larson as they broke down what happened Saturday at the Xfinity Race.

The Xfinity Race just wrapped up Saturday afternoon with Connor Zilisch taking home the victory.

It was his first time racing here at Pocono and is only 18-years-old with the crew chief Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The race wasn't without its dramatics as Zilisch made a late run passing Jesse Love for the lead and coming up with his second victory of the season.

NWS issues Flash Flood Warning

(WBRE/WYOU)— The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning for three counties.

The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for northern Lackawanna County, southwestern Susquehanna County, and Northeastern Wyoming County until 2:15 p.m.

At 11:09a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.

Between one and two inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
