Stroudsburg business busy leading up to Tax Day

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Tuesday is Tax Day, and if you have not filed yet, you will have to get it in by the end of the day.

The H&R Block in Stroudsburg has been busy this past month, leading up to today.

28/22 News was told that many people called to schedule appointments for Tuesday, but it was first-come, first-served walk-ins only.

Don't toss LVHN data breach checks in mail

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — If you recently received a check in the mail connected to the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) data breach, don't toss it: It's real.

A $65,000,000 settlement was reached after a class-action lawsuit claimed LVHN failed to properly protect patient data.

That breach, exposed in February of last year, involved more than 134,000 patients, with some personal information and even photos posted to the dark web by a hacker group known as "Blackcat."

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An area nonprofit that helps people experiencing homelessness is reshaping the way it operates. Keystone Mission Leadership says it's hoping to help the homeless in a new way.

Keystone Mission operates centers in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.

Now, leadership says they are making innovative plans to address the continuing crisis here in NEPA.

Located on East Union Street, the Keystone Mission is a safe haven for those experiencing homelessness.
