Four banned from Pennsylvania casinos after abandoning kids to gamble

(WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced four people have been banned from Pennsylvania casinos for abandoning children to gamble.

Officials with the board say they placed, or denied the removal of four people from the casino's Involuntary Exclusion list for leaving minors unattended while gambling in a Pennsylvania casino.

Gymnast dies after falling from pole while celebrating Philadelphia Eagles win

(WPHL) – A Temple University gymnast has died after falling from a light pole in Philadelphia during city-wide celebrations after the Eagles won the NFC Championship on Sunday.

Tyler Sabapathy, 18, "sustained critical injuries" in the fall and passed away Tuesday, Temple University announced.

Sabapathy, a first-year student at Temple, was a native of Toronto, Canada, and was said to be a "thriving student within Temple University’s College of Public Health, where he was majoring in exercise and sport science."

White House budget office rescinds federal funding freeze memo

The Trump administration’s Office of Management and Budget released a new memo Wednesday rescinding a controversial memo issued late Monday that froze a wide swath of federal financial assistance, which had paralyzed many federal programs and caused a huge uproar on Capitol Hill.

The decision came amid strong behind-the-scenes pushback from Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill, according to a GOP senator who was apprised of the decision to reverse Monday’s budget memo.

The reversal was signed by Matthew Vaeth, the acting director of the White House budget office.
