Promoting overdose awareness across NEPA

(WBRE/WYOU)— Geisinger is recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day, it is a day to remember those who have passed because of an overdose.

Thursday, Geisinger representatives were at Lackawanna County Courthouse along with other treatment organizations to provide the community with Narcan.

They also helped to inform the community about where to get help for those with addictions.

New stop signs to keep residents safe

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— In order to keep drivers and pedestrians safe, the city of Scranton is getting new high visibility stop signs.

The new stop signs feature red flashing led lights, and are all apart of Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti's plan to revitalize the downtown and keep it safe.

The Scranton Police Department is working with officials to have the new signs installed at high traffic intersections, and other area identified as historically high crash zones.

Permits for deer hunting program now available
