WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We are about 15 hours and counting away until polls open in Pennsylvania. Election officials from around the Commonwealth and in northeastern Pennsylvania are making their final preparations for Election Day 2024.
The Bureau of Elections is located on the second floor of the Luzerne County-owned Penn Place Building.
The barricades outside the office are part of added security for the building.

At the Adam T. Bower Memorial Dam in Sunbury, there started a construction of a Fish Passage to help fish get through the dam more easily. The dam was constructed in 1970 and is 2,700 feet long with more than 2,000 feel of inflatable bags, making it the longest inflatable dam in the world.

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a death after a shot was reportedly fired at a Williamsport home.
According to police, on November 2 officers were called to a home on the 400 block of Grant Street for a reported shot fired. At the scene, officers say they found a deceased adult male with a gunshot wound.

Police found a firearm as well as other evidence on the scene.

(WHTM) - Former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by 1% in Pennsylvania and within the margin of error, according to the final Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey released on Monday morning.
The poll found that Trump had 49% support in Pennsylvania compared to Harris's 48% support, leaving the race within the survey's +/-3% margin of error.
The poll also highlighted a wide gender gap among Pennsylvania voters. Pennsylvania men break for Trump by 17% (58% to 41%), while women break for Harris by 13% (55% to 42%).

(WHTM) - Incumbent U.S. Senator Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick are tied in the final Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey of the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race before Election Day.
The poll of 1,000 Pennsylvanians shows both Casey and McCormick with 47% support and 6% of voters still undecided before the November 5 election.
Since October, support for McCormick has increased one point, while support for the three-term incumbent Casey stayed at 47%.

PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One woman has died after a fire in Plymouth Monday morning.
150 acres lost in Blue Mountain brush fire
Crews were called to a fire on Morris Street in Plymouth around 8:00 a.m. Monday.
The fire spread to an adjacent building, causing two homes to catch fire, and a third house to sustain water damage. According to Plymouth Fire Chief Josh Evans, a woman died in one of the homes.
A fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
