PennDOT workers got lost in tunnel during inspection

EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There is relief on Tuesday after Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) crews lost communication with workers who entered a tunnel in Luzerne County.

The call came in just after 10:00 a.m. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending.

A small group of PennDOT employees was making measurements and checking for erosion in a routine inspection of a flood tunnel in Edwardsville.

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A months-long drug investigation resulted in 30 grams of cocaine and $14,000 in cash seized from the alleged dealer's home.

On September 29, around 6:05 a.m., Daneil Oritz was arrested after a two-month investigation the Hazleton Police Department Narcotics Unit handled as part of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force.

Man accused of stealing autographed photo worth nearly $800

WILKES-BARRE TWP. LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for a man accused of stealing a Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle autographed photo worth nearly $800.

Wilkes-Barre Township Police stated they are attempting to identify a man they call "the NEPA Duck Dynasty 'Si Robertson'" after he stole a Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle autographed photo from a store in the Wyoming Valley Mall.

The photo is valued at $799.99.
