Bridge Replacement on Green Creek Road Begins Monday

On Monday, June 27, a PennDOT bridge crew in Columbia County will begin a bridge replacement project on T-715 (Green Creek Road) in Jackson Township.

The existing 23 foot-long T-beam bridge, which spans Green Creek, was built in 1934. It will be replaced by a precast box culvert.

Green Creek Road will be closed between T-614 (Youngs Hill Road) and T-616 (Twin Pond Road). A detour will be in effect using Route 4030 (Derrs Road),

Route 4039 (Austin Trail), T-710 (Greasyville Hollow Road), and T-725 (Mendenhall Hill Road).

Traffic Slowdown Next Tuesday on I-80 for Power Line Removal

Motorists in Columbia County are advised there will be a traffic slowdown lasting several minutes on Interstate 80 in Columbia County on Tuesday, June 28.

The slowdown will occur at about 11 a.m. in the vicinity of Route 4009 (Millville Road) in the Town of Bloomsburg so a power line spanning the highway can be removed. Rolling roadblocks will be used to slow traffic in both directions.

Motorists are asked to be alert and watch for stopped or slow-moving traffic.

Bridge Replacement on Route 239 Begins Next Week

A bridge replacement project on Route 239 between Maple Lane and Klinger Hill Road in Sugarloaf Township, Columbia County, is set to begin Monday, June 27.

Work includes removal of the existing structure and construction of a single span pre-stressed concrete box beam bridge, drainage improvements and the installation of guide rail.

A detour will be in place using Route 487, Camp Lavigne Road and Route 118.

Work is expected to be completed in October.

Ryland Construction Company, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $1.1 million project.

Microsurfacing on Old Berwick Road Begins Tomorrow

A microsurfacing project on Route 1004 (Old Berwick Road) in Columbia County is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22.

Work will be between Route 487 in the Town of Bloomsburg and Route 2028 (Market Street) in South Centre Township.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane under daylight flagging operations.

Vestal Asphalt, Inc., is the prime contractor on this project.

Work is expected to be completed in July, weather permitting.

Micro-Surfacing on Route 254 Begins Next Week

On Monday, May 2, a 3.4-mile micro-surfacing project on Route 254 in Columbia County will begin.

Work will be from Taylor Road in Millville Borough to Route 44 in Madison Township.

There will be daylight signing and flaggers providing traffic control.

Work is expected to be completed in late June.

Suite-Kote Corporation is the prime contractor on this $237,500 project.

Lane Closure on Route 339

Update: All lanes of Route 339 are open.

Motorists in Columbia County are advised that Route 339 is down to a single lane between Mainville and Mifflinville due to a vehicle crash and downed power lines.

Flaggers are directing traffic through the area.

Bridge Replacement on Back Branch Road Begins Next Week

On Monday, April 25, a PennDOT bridge crew in Columbia County will begin a bridge replacement project on Route 4008 (Back Branch Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.

The existing concrete slab bridge, which spans a tributary of Fishing Creek, was built in 1940 and is classified as functionally obsolete. It will be replaced with a box culvert.

The bridge will be closed during the project. Route 4013 (Whites Church Road) also will be closed due to its close proximity to the bridge.

Route 42 NB Ramp from Route 11 Closed by Vehicle Crash

Update: The ramp is open as of 19:05.

Motorists in Columbia County are advised that the northbound ramp from Route 11 to Route 42 north is closed due to a tractor-trailer rollover.

The ramp is closed and traffic is being detoured to Route 11 and the Town of Bloomsburg.
