Enjoying time with animals at 170th Bloomsburg Fair

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s that time of year again: Fried food, fun rides, and plenty of entertainment. The 170th Bloomsburg Fair is once again drawing big crowds.

Meteorologist Matthew Howard was live in Bloomsburg to show off what’s happening at the fairgrounds this year.

On Wednesday, Matthew was surrounded by over 50 goats and talked with Justin from Steinmetz Family Farm to discuss the animal-centered business.

Community rallies after sudden death of food vendor

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Tragedy strikes the vendor community at the Bloomsburg Fair after one collapsed while on the job.

A vendor has died. He was preparing food earlier this week when he collapsed.

69-year-old John Barnhart collapsed while preparing food on Monday. Shortly afterwards, his stand, Irene's Caboose, closed.

That's when the fair community around them came running to help.
