BRIAR CREEK, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Crews were called Thursday afternoon to battle flames in a reported structure fire in Briar Creek.

At about 5:20 p.m., authorities reported crews were called to Red Rock Road for a reported structure fire.

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was charged after allegedly leading police on a car, foot chase into a fenced-in backyard.

According to the Bloomsburg Police Department, on Tuesday around 2:30 a.m. officers were patrolling in the 200 block of West Main Street when a man, George Stine, 48, was seen driving after knowingly having a suspended driver's license due to recent police interaction.

BERWICK, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Berwick man was arrested Tuesday and is now facing more than 50 felony charges.

He is being accused of providing inaccurate paperwork to customers who have bought vehicles from him.

Jeremy Talanca is the owner of Keystone Auto Exchange LLC and is being accused of misguiding dozens of customers resulting in a loss of thousands of dollars.

Many of these customers were at the arraignment this evening to show Talanca that they are looking for justice.

MIFFLINVILLE, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A tractor-trailer caught fire on Interstate 80 in Columbia County Monday morning.  

The driver of the big rig tells 28/22 News he was driving west around midnight when he noticed smoke coming from the rear axle. By the time he pulled over, the trailer was burning.

Driver dead after I-80 crash in Luzerne County

Crews arrived quickly near Mifflinville, but the truck was full of flames.

Officials said the rig was empty but all of the driver's belongings burned.

Two wanted for multiple alleged retail thefts at Target

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities were called to a deadly crash on Interstate 80 Eastbound Sunday evening.

State police said first responders were called to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 eastbound near the Bloomsburg exit at 7:00 p.m.

A Pennsylvania State Trooper on scene told 28/22 News a blue Kia sedan was driving westbound when the driver crossed over the 50-foot grass median, then went under a truck and hit the back tires of a big rig traveling eastbound.

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The 35th Annual Early Bird Sports Expo in Columbia County took place over the weekend.

Outdoor sporting enthusiasts filled Bloomsburg Fair Grounds to celebrate all things hunting, fishing, and outdoors.

Sunday was the last day of the three-day event, but the Annual Early Bird Sports Expo may not have happened at all if it hadn't become a tradition for so many people.

The Early Bird Sports Expo has been around for 35 years. The annual event brings together people who have a passion for the outdoors.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, SNYDER COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One person was injured after a rollover crash in Snyder County Saturday night.

At 9:39 p.m., authorities responded to a report of an accident with one person entrapped in the vehicle at the intersection Route 15 Southbound and Grangers Rd, according to Hummel's-Wharf Fire and Rescue.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the car on its roof with one person trapped inside due to a telephone pole lying on the vehicle.
