WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Wyoming Valley Mall is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday.
According to a post on their Facebook page, power has been restored.
‘That’s a McFelony,’ Ronald stolen from local McDonald’s
The mall closed almost two weeks ago after power was disrupted to the facility and has remained closed since.
The mall is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

NESQUEHONING, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a Ronald McDonald statue was stolen from a Nesquehoning McDonald's.

LANSFORD, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Carbon County man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges.
According to the Department of Justice, 44-year-old Jason Mika of Lansford had over one pound of methamphetamine, several pounds of marijuana, drug packaging materials, and several firearms after a search of his home on September 6, 2024.

Mika plead guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute over 500 grams of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine.

NEWPORT TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Five people have lost their home after a fire Monday morning in Luzerne County.
Officials state the fire broke out around 5:00 a.m. on the 200 block of East Main Street in Glen Lyon.
Residents, along with their pets, were able to safely evacuate from the building.
1 injured, 4 dead after Hazle Township crash
A firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat-related issues. There were no other injuries reported.
The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — For those who consider themselves a bit squeamish about slithery creatures, consider yourself warned. Reptile lovers from near and far united at the Hilton Hotel Conference Center in Downtown Scranton on Sunday.
They took part in the Seventh Annual Electric City Reptile Expo.
It had everything from little lizards to large snakes and just about any reptile in between.
