OLYPHANT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two local churches are now one after a mass that celebrated their merger. They not only formed a new parish, but also took on a name no other parish in America has had until now.

KLINE TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating an incident in Schuykill County that sent a 15-year-old boy to the hospital after being struck by a car Saturday afternoon.
Schuylkill County officials confirmed with 28/22 News emergency crews were called to the 1000 block of Mile Hill Road in Kline Township just before 3:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Kline Township Police Department Detective Paul Bowman told 28/22 News a 15-year-old boy was struck by a car and taken to a Philadelphia children's hospital for treatment.
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A train unveiling happened on Saturday in the Electric City. The Steamtown National Historic Site revealed the newly restored Bullard #2 locomotive.
It had been offline since 2010 and, for the past nine years, underwent a comprehensive cosmetic restoration.
Saturday's ceremony gave the public an opportunity not only to see the finished product but also to meet some of the roughly 100 people who collectively volunteered thousands of hours to make it possible.
Two cats recovered after bedroom fire
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local cemetery is spruced up on Saturday thanks to volunteers willing to give up part of their holiday weekend. More than a dozen volunteers, including some armed with weed trimmers, took to Washburn Street Cemetery in Scranton on Saturday.
They are with the non-profit Christmas Miracles from Heaven. They trimmed tall weeds and grass covering headstones, mowed the grass, and removed branches and other debris.
The cemetery had a reputation for being neglected in the past, and the group wanted to change that.
WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's back to work for crews trying to fix an electrical problem that is keeping the Wyoming Valley Mall closed.
They resumed the job Saturday morning after having Friday off for the holiday.
Word on the scene near Wilkes-Barre is that they are trying to replace a permanently damaged cable with a new one to try and restore power as quickly as possible.
Man injured after jumping from window during fire

ARCHBALD, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Multiple fire departments were called to a home in Archbald after a bedroom fire started Saturday afternoon.
According to Archbald Police Chief Tim Trently, crews were called to the 500 block of Gaughan Court for a reported structure fire when a family noticed smoke coming from their bedroom just after 1:30 p.m.
Trently says police arrived first, attempting to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, but were unable to put the fire out.
