LEWISBURG — A downed tree destroyed an apartment on Lewisburg’s South Water Street during Thursday evening’s storm.

Extreme heat, with near-record high temperatures ranging from the mid-to upper 90s, will smother the Valley for four days beginning Sunday, a meteorologist said.

LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's the big race weekend at Pocono Raceway, and it's also a Drug Take Back weekend at the Raceway.

Race fans can bring their unused or outdated prescription drugs to the track, where they will be collected and safely destroyed at a later date.  

Pennsylvania Attorney General's office and Pocono Raceway officials are teaming up for the drug collection effort.

The mission is to help fight the opioid epidemic in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick reports live on 28/22 News.

HALLSTEAD, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A possible shooting outside a local bank is under investigation.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning, near People's Security Bank and Trust on Main Street in Hallstead.

House uninhabitable as tree falls into it

As of 7:00 a.m., state police were on scene investigating a vehicle that had its windows blown out.

It is currently unknown if there were any injuries or arrests at this time.
