Artists challenged to capture picturesque scenes in Selinsgrove

SELINSGROVE — Thirty-four artists of all ages and abilities entered their work in the Fourth Annual Plein Air competition on Saturday morning. Their task: in two hours, find something or somewhere in Selinsgrove inspire a painting or drawing. The contestants were allowed to choose their medium of expression, There was paper, oils, acrylics. Children used pencils and crayons.

Multiple roads in Scranton now open after closures

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Police Department announced multiple road closures in Scranton.

According to the Scranton Police Department, Cedar Avenue between Lackawanna Avenue and the Biden Expressway was closed on Sunday.

South Washington Avenue between Lackawanna Avenue and River Street were also be closed, officials add.

The closures were taking place in the area of the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was expected to visit Sunday afternoon.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be visiting an ammunition factory in Scranton.

The Associated Press reports that Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant on Sunday.

The AP cites multiple sources that Zelenskyy will visit the plant to see where the artillery shells are made which his country uses in its war with Russia.
