Man accused of hitting police car while fleeing

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Scranton man hit a cop car while attempting to flee an arrest for alleged drug-related crimes, according to police.

Rashawn Edwards, 44, was being arrested for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance when he attempted to flee from police, as stated in the criminal complaint.

Investigators say Edwards reversed his car into the front of a marked police vehicle when trying to flee the scene after officers turned their sirens and lights on.

On September 17, state police, along several other other agencies followed up on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which said a social media user was in possession of, and disseminating material containing child sex abuse.

"In all actuality I am elated," said Nanticoke resident Ronald Knapp.
