Many welcomed to Margaritaville event in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Jimmy Buffet said it best: "It's five o'clock somewhere," and on Thursday, the NEPA Youth Shelter and the Green Ridge Club welcomed dozens to Margaritaville.

The night included a cheeseburger buffet bar, a french fry bar, games, and raffles.

It had a tropical theme with Hawaiian shirts, shorts, flip-flops, and grass skirts.

This is the shelter's biggest fundraiser sponsored by several area businesses.

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Just in time for Halloween, the Paranormal Cirque III is in town, but this circus has an edgy twist.

The event kicked off Thursday at the Wyoming Valley Mall and runs through September 22.

Guests can enjoy illusionists, mysterious creatures, and zombies. Vampires, werewolves, and ghosts also provide a scare to guests in the audience.

However, this circus has an age requirement to attend. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Luzerne County officials invited lawmakers to the area to assure them the county's election system is one that can be trusted.

The Luzerne County Manager, Romilda Crocamo, reached out to the national, state, and local Republican and Democratic Chairs to assure them one thing they can count on Luzerne County to do the right thing this election season.
