SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A first-of-its-kind event was held at Washburn Cemetery in Scranton. A new non-profit organization called Christmas Miracles from Heaven expanded their outreach this year to create miracles for the local community and frontline heroes.

SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lackawanna County Coroner has identified the victim of a fatal crash in South Abington Township.
70-year-old Michael G. Fedorka, of Dickson City, passed away in the hospital after a two-car crash on the 700 block of North State Street around 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
According to Chief Wolfe of the South Abington Police Department, the crash was a head-on collision between two pickup trucks.
Chief Wolfe says the driver of the other vehicle is a 58-year-old man from Scranton who is in critical condition.

WYOMING, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A show of patriotism is helping mark this Memorial Day weekend at an annual event. A Revolutionary War Memorial Service was held on Sunday at the Wyoming Monument along Wyoming Avenue.
227 American flags were placed in front of the monument to symbolize each patriot killed in the Battle of Wyoming.
Patriotic bunting was also placed on the fence.
The sun arrives just in time for Memorial Day
