Bloomsburg Fair reaches highest attendance since 2019

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The numbers are in for the official attendance of the 170th Bloomsburg Fair.

Over the course of eight days, a total of 406,113 people entered through the fair gates.

This marked the highest attendance at the fair since 2019, when 411,869 people attended.

101-year-old dives in Luzerne County skies

The highest attended day of the 2025 Bloomsburg Fair was the final day, Saturday, September 27, when 60,637 people attended.

The highest single-day attendance record for the fair was in 2007 on the final Saturday.

Officials identify driver killed in crash after car bursts into flames

KIDDER TOWNSHIP, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Carbon County Coroner's Office has identified the driver who died after officials stated he hit a tree, causing his car to burst into flames.

On September 26, the Carbon County Coroner’s Office responded to a crash on Route 940 in Kidder Township.

The coroner stated a vehicle left the roadway, hit a tree, and, on impact, burst into flames. First responders tried to extricate the victim but were unsuccessful.

Teen injured inside home after multiple shots fired

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A teen was left injured inside a home after multiple shots were fired in Williamsport.

Williamsport Bureau of Police stated on September 29, around 2:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Memorial Avenue for multiple shots and the sound of tires screeching.

Once on the scene, officers got a call for an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower torso inside a residence.

JACKSON TWP., NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report two children were killed after a crash involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy carrying six people.

On September 28, around 8:00 p.m., a crash occurred on State Route 225 in Jackson Township involving a horse-drawn buggy and a Mini Cooper.

Arrest made after deadly shooting in gated community

The driver of the car told police they fell asleep while driving before impacting the buggy.

The six occupants of the buggy were ejected onto the road, shoulder, and embankment.
