Crafters, artisans take over mall for Craft and Home Decor Show

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Shoppers filled the Wyoming Valley Mall on Saturday, not for big-box deals, but for homemade treasures. More than 85 local artisans took over nearly every corner of the building for the Craft and Home Decor Show.

The event featured everything from tie-dyed clothing to gemstone jewelry, to goat soap creams and resin art.

Residents 'relish' Picklefest in Luzerne County drive-in

HUNLOCK TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Folks at another outdoor event decided even if it rained, they would just "dill" with it. Break out the pickle puns for Picklefest at the Garden Drive-In in Hunlock Township.

Roughly four dozen vendors showcased a variety of pickle-related products you could relish, including items to eat, to wear, or to display.

'Field Gay' competition celebrates Pride in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A fresh, active way to enjoy Pride month while embracing your inner child kicked off at Kirby Park on Saturday. The Rainbow Alliance is hosting its first-ever Field Gay, a grown-up Field Day celebrating pride, community, and play.

Adults took on obstacle courses, relay races, and yes, even balloon-sitting contests.

Heroes wear running shoes in Superhero Buddy Run 5K

DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's been said not all superheroes wear capes, but some wore running shoes on Saturday in Luzerne County's Back Mountain to help kids. They circled the track at Dallas High School for the Inaugural Superhero Buddy Run 5K and Family Walk.

The threat of rain did not stop more than a hundred people from showing up to support the cause.

The non-profit Beyond Grateful, which provides inclusive programs for kids with disabilities, sponsored the event.

PSP investigating deadly ATV crash in Lackawanna County

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say they are investigating a fatal Friday night ATV crash in Jefferson Township.

In a release, troopers say crews were called on Friday shortly before 6:00 p.m. to the 100 block of Stevens Road after a reported ATV crash.

Man swept away in Lycoming County creek, search, rescue mission launched

State police on Saturday said they are investigating the fatal ATV crash.
