LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police charged a former Dallas Borough police officer after he allegedly stole ammunition from a police station.

According to criminal documents, 39-year-old Corey Sidorek is being charged with theft for allegedly taking ammo from the Dallas Borough Police Department where he was employed for over four years.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— St. Patrick's Day was Monday, but we have one more parade to look forward to this weekend.

Sunday will be the 46th St. Patrick's Parade in the Poconos.

There will be 135 floats this year, bigger than previous years.

What will funding look like without the DOE

(WBRE/WYOU)— President Trump signed the executive order around 4:30 p.m. Thursday shutting down the Department of Education (DOE).

Many are now wondering what that means for schools right here in NEPA, as well as across the country.

SCI Retreat prison near Shickshinny closed in 2021 and White Haven Center closed in 2023.

State officials have been trying to sell the properties to private entities and/or make them available to Luzerne County officials.

"The meter is running for taxpayers and it's not right". That's what a state senator is saying about two vacant state owned properties in Luzerne County.

House plants have taken over the shop on the first day of spring but manager Judy Henry says it’s all for an annual ‘plant explosion’ event on Saturday.
