Shapiro Administration visits Pittston for Downtown Revitalization

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Shapiro Administration made a stop in Luzerne County on Tuesday.

The Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger joined Mayor Michael Lombardo and other local leaders to tour revitalized Pittston.

The visit highlighted the Shapiro Administration's commitment to investing in Pennsylvania's downtowns and small businesses.

They've invested $3,000,000 to support several revitalization projects in downtown Pittston.

Police seek gunman in Sugarloaf Township shooting

SUGARLOAF TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are looking for a gunman after a shooting sent one person to the hospital Tuesday night in Sugarloaf Township.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say the Sugarloaf Township Police Department was called to the unit block of Merry L Drive for a reported shooting victim.
