MADISON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A single-family home was damaged in Lackawanna County after a fire Tuesday morning.
Madisonville Fire Company crews were dispatched to the 4300 block of Quicktown Road in Madison Township around 11:00 a.m.
The fire chief says they found heavy smoke coming from a woodstove area in the basement.
Crews quickly knocked down the flames.
Details released after bicyclist dies during crash
One person was home at the time and made it out safely.
No one was hurt, and the family can return home.

EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A group of Luzerne County high school students is partnering with a national organization to end book deserts and increase literacy for pre-K students.
The goal of the two organizations is to get books into the hands of kids whose families may not be able to afford them.
The Pennsylvania Key Club is teaming up with the Li-TEA-rary Society to give books to preschoolers across the state to help set them up for success.

WESTFALL TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Blooming Grove Township man is accused of downloading and sharing child sexual abuse images uncovered through a national tip line.
Pike County District Attorney says 25-year-old Christian Snyder was traced through an online account that uploaded child sexual abuse material onto the internet.

He was arrested on Tuesday by the Pike County Sheriff's Department in Westfall Township.

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man vomited on an officer while being arrested after a fight.
On March 25, around 5:50 a.m., officers were called for a fight in the 600 block of Seybert Street. Police said they learned 23-year-old Tyress Martinez of Allentown had returned to a home where he was trespassing earlier in the night when a fight happened.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on March 8, around 1:00 a.m., troopers tried to pull over a car for multiple traffic violations.
500 doses of fentanyl seized, alleged drug dealer wanted
Police say the driver, 21-year-old Samiyah Kramer of Williamsport, led troops on a 1-mile chase before crashing into a home. Kramer then fled on foot and was arrested shortly after.

According to police, on March 20, Jabril Crumbley, 23, was attempting to buy drugs from a confidential informant when officers arrived.

W. HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for a man wanted after investigators seized over 500 individual doses of fentanyl and various other drugs.
According to the West Hazleton City Police Department, 38-year-old Eldor Mendez-Cabrera from Hazleton is wanted for his role in a drug distribution operation.
After a months-long investigation into area drug trafficking, police said they seized the following;
Over 500 individual doses of fentanyl
87 grams of cocaine
101 misbranded pills that were made with fentanyl

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The former business manager of the Ritz Theater in Scranton allegedly stole over $74,000 from the business.
According to police, James Olecki, 48, made $74,892.47 worth of illegitimate transactions using a debit card assigned to Olecki.
Police say Olecki was employed as a manager (CEO) and had financial access to the business.
A coworker approached Olecki about suspicious Cash App transactions on January 15 on an account that was strictly used for paying the company's mortgage, officers reported.
