MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A vacant building in Northumberland County burst into flames early Wednesday morning.
According to Clover Hose Fire Chief John Janolek, the call came in around 5:15 a.m. for a fire at the intersection of West Third Street and South Oak Street in Mount Carmel.
Heavy flames could be seen pouring out of the upper floors of the former bank and apartment building, which was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
