Lane restriction coming to Interstate-81 South in Lackawanna County

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising drivers of an upcoming lane restriction in Lackawanna County for Monday.

PennDOT says there will be a lane restriction on Interstate 81 Southbound at mile marker 184.4, Montage Mountain Road/Davis Street on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for an emergency guide rail repair.

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A craft fair brought together some unique vendors in Luzerne County.

Kingston VFW Post 283 held its second Craft and Vendor Event on Sunday.

20 vendors were on hand with everything from decorative wreaths to candles and lamps.

All sales from tables, raffle baskets, and food and bar profits went toward helping the VFW with day-to-day expenses.

People turned out Sunday for Hawley Fire Department's 46th Bi-annual Model Train Show and Sale.

Nearly 80 vendors were on hand offering everything from model trains and train parts to books, DVDs, and even pieces of railroad history for sale.

Pocono Family YMCA was the scene Sunday for a first-ever Bicycle Rodeo.

It featured six stations and allowed kids to decorate their bikes, learn about bike skills and safety, and have fun riding with friends.

They got together Sunday afternoon outside the Luzerne County Courthouse to call for justice for the wrongfully convicted.

They rolled into Wilkes-Barre Sunday afternoon looking to raise much-needed awareness to help right a wrong.

Pennsylvania Bikers for Justice partnered with the Bronx, New York-based Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice to hold a Wrongful Conviction Rally.

Pennsylvania State Police Frackville say they were called at about 8:00 p.m. to the unit block of Franklin Street in East Union Township to help in a death investigation that happened the morning of September 28.

According to the Lackawanna County Center for Public Safety, crews responded to a garage fire on the 100 block of Hill Street just after 1:00 a.m.

Police investigating shots fired near Bloomsburg Fair

Officials say Jessup Hose Company responded to the scene, and called in for additional units due to the time of the fire.

Authorities state that no one was hurt, and the fire is under investigation by Jessup Hose Company.

One man transported in Lackawanna County crash on I-81

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One male was transported after an early Sunday morning crash in Lackawanna County.

According to Lackawanna County Center for Public Safety, crews responded to a crash with entrapment on Interstate 81 southbound just before 5:00 a.m. near mile marker 182.

When on-scene, crews with the Scranton Fire Department and Greenwood Fire Department saw the guiderail going through the front of the vehicle, and under the driver between him and his seat.
