Aurora may be visible in Pa. due to geomagnetic storm

(WBRE/WYOU) — According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a geomagnetic storm might make the Northern Lights visible in Pennsylvania.

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' showcases Luzerne County haunting

(WBRE/WYOU) — Do you believe in ghosts? Demonic possession? Those are some of the questions at the center of a newly released supernatural horror movie that focuses on a local family.

The movie is entitled The Conjuring: Last Rites. It's based on the experiences the Smurl family says they endured for years in their Luzerne County home.

28/22 News I-Team Reporter Andy Mehalshick reported extensively on the Smurl case in the 1980s.

This is not the first movie made about the Smurl family haunting.

Wyoming Valley West social post under police investigation

(WBRE/WYOU) — An unauthorized social post made on a Wyoming Valley West employee account regarding "sensitive political commentary" is under police investigation.

Wyoming Valley West School District stated on Sunday that a social media account belonging to one of its employees was compromised. School officials say on the employee's account, an unauthorized post containing "sensitive political commentary" was shared.
