New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted by a federal grand jury on criminal charges that are still sealed. That's according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. Adams said after the indictment that he would not resign. The indictment Wednesday night marks a stunning turn for Adams, a Democrat who won election nearly three years ago to become the second Black mayor of the nation’s largest city.

Investigation launched into President Zelenskyy's visit to Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA (WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation into Ukraine President Zelenskyy's visit to the Scranton area over the weekend is underway.

Zelenskyy visited the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant on Sunday and now that visit is under scrutiny in Congress.

Some in Congress are calling the visit "an apparent campaign event."

The Speaker of the House wants Zelenskyy to fire the country's ambassador who arranged the tour to Scranton on Sunday.

Woman hospitalized, garage damaged after Wilkes-Barre crash

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman had to be taken to a nearby hospital and a home's garage was badly damaged after a car crashed into a Wilkes-Barre home Wednesday.

59-year-old Edward Roche now faces a dozen counts, including committing an offense against a care-dependent person.

Drug raid arrests three, over 1,000 bags of fentanyl seized

The accusations surfaced about a week after police say Roche assaulted a co-worker at Forest Hill Rehabilitation Center.

Roche is jailed in lieu of a $250,000 cash bail and faces a hearing next month.
