Subs with a side of community love served up in Tunkhannock

TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Monday, residents took some time to celebrate local first responders with a sub and a sweet treat.

At Tunkhannock Community Ambulance in Wyoming County, locals can enjoy a firehouse sub, hoagies, coffee, and ice cream to help raise funds for local fire departments and EMS crews.

From now until Saturday, a portion of everything sold will be donated to local fire departments and EMS crews to help with everyday expenses. They're also holding a raffle.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Several new security measures have been announced to make sure things stay safe and fair on Election Day.

The changes are in Luzerne County which will be one of the most watched polling spots in the nation.

On Monday, Luzerne County Manager Romilda Crocamo announced some new enhanced security measures that will be in place on November 5.

"I want people to know that we will have safe polling places," Crocamo stated.

Police investigating truck crash into home in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating Monday after a truck crashed into a Scranton home.

Officials tell 28/22 news they were called around 8:30 p.m. to the 2100 block of North Main Avenue in Scranton after a truck reportedly hit a house.

Scranton police say no one was injured, but the home sustained damage to the front porch and window.

Guests grab the umbrellas to enjoy the 169th Bloomsburg Fair

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Bloomsburg Fair is the largest agricultural fair in Pennsylvania that runs for nine days and features family fun with rides, music, and food.

Monday is Senior Day where fairgoers 65 years old or older can enjoy the Bloomsburg Fair for free. Senior Day is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery.
