'Long-time drug dealer' operating out of hotel found guilty

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lackawanna County District Attorney announced a jury has found a "long-time drug dealer" guilty on various drug trafficking charges.

A jury has found Junior Rashean Jackson, of Scranton, guilty on the following charges after a two-day trial:

Possession with intent to deliver fentanyl

Possession with intent to deliver cocaine

Possession of fentanyl

Possession of cocaine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

(WBRE/WYOU) — A letter sent to employees reveals the intent to sign with Tenor Health Foundation for the sale of three major Commonwealth Health Facilities in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

According to the letter sent by Commonwealth Health to employees, the sale includes three major Commonwealth Health facilities — Regional Hospital of Scranton, Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.

This would include all of their related sites of care.

Man accused assaulting child for two years

DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man is facing multiple charges after allegations surfaced of him abusing and threatening a child for two years.

On August 5, the Duryea Police Department filed charges against a 54-year-old man after a sexual abuse investigation involving a child.

The investigation began after a ChildLine referral was received in July. The alleged victim was interviewed and claimed multiple incidents of abuse occurred for around two years.
