Man sentenced for inappropriate relationship with child

BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a child.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney's Office, Paul Roberts III, 43, of Sayre, was sentenced to 12 Years to a maximum of 28 years for multiple convictions of photographing, videotaping, filming sexual acts, and unlawful contact with a minor.

Man sentenced for arson after setting trailer on fire

WYSOX TWP., BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced on arson charges after he set his trailer on fire.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney's Office, 44-year-old Corey Potter was sentenced to 21 months to a maximum of 60 months for arson and resisting arrest.

Potter was arrested in July 2023 at Jackson's Trailer Park in Wysox Township.

Police said Potter made threats to burn his trailer at that park and did so, and then resisted arrest when troopers tried to take him into custody.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It has been a mild November, but this week’s overnight temperatures are leaving those experiencing homelessness out in the cold with few shelters to turn to.

The front lights are always on at the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church on North Fifth Street.

But during the colder months, its side door is also lit and a welcome sign is out, serving those in need as its cold-weather homeless shelter.

Republicans are going to court in Pennsylvania amid vote counting in the U.S. Senate election between Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick, with the contest headed toward a state-mandated recount. The Associated Press called the race for McCormick last week, concluding that not enough ballots remained to be counted in areas Casey was winning for him to take the lead. As of Thursday, McCormick led by about 24,000 votes out of more than 6.9 million ballots counted.
