Man sentenced for cocaine by mail scheme

LOCK HAVEN, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Clinton County District Attorney's Office says a man has been sentenced for his role in a scheme to import cocaine into Clinton County by using the U.S. Postal Service.

Jayden Lyons, 20, of Lock Haven, was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver just under a half pound of cocaine.

City crash seriously injures pedestrian

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We now know a man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Wilkes-Barre Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to North Pennsylvania Avenue and East Union Street in the city just after 8:00 p.m. for a report of a person hit by a vehicle.

Police say when they arrived, they found a 54-year-old man from Wilkes-Barre seriously injured and provided care until EMS arrived.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

(The Hill) -- The arson attack at Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s (D) residence is the latest incident to underscore the threats faced by high-profile politicians amid the country’s political polarization. 

The man accused of setting fire to the governor’s residence over the weekend allegedly harbored hatred against Shapiro, admitting that he planned to attack the Democratic governor with a hammer if he had seen him at his home.
