PA Courts to payout $100K in discrimination compensation

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The Unified Judicial System (UJS) of Pennsylvania has settled a lawsuit to pay out $100,000 to victims who were subjected to discriminatory policies and practices.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the lawsuit was brought forward by the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This case was filed against courts in Blair, Jefferson, Lackawanna, and Northumberland County Courts of Common Pleas.

(WPHL/WHTM) — Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn says Justin Mohn beheaded his father, made a YouTube video with the severed head, and wanted to torture federal employees by mobilizing the Pennsylvania National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Mohn, 32, has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after police say he shot his father Michael Mohn, a federal employee with the Army Corps of Engineers, on Tuesday night in Bucks County.

Man accused of shooting fireworks from pickup truck

POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a 21-year-old man from Delaware was caught shooting fireworks at a Monroe County house Saturday night.

On January 27, just before 10:00 p.m., the Pocono Township Police Department says they were called to the area of Crescent Lake Road for the report of someone setting off fireworks from a moving pickup truck.
